How to solve truck drive shaft failure? Truck drivers are learning this trick...

The transmission shaft transmits the output torque of the gearbox to the rear axle through connection and transmission, so that the rear axle can fully receive the torque output from the gearbox, thereby achieving normal operation.

Generally, the drive shaft of a truck is composed of a connecting plate, a bridge bearing, a universal cross shaft, an expansion joint and a trim block. The transmission shaft in the operating machinery has a simple structure, reliable use but high technical content. Therefore, we must take care of it as we care for our own bodies during use, otherwise unexpected failures will occur during use.

During routine maintenance of the drive shaft, be sure to check whether the trim block has fallen off. Many truck drivers are not familiar with the trim block: it is a small iron block welded on both ends of each drive shaft during the production of the drive shaft in order to balance the operation of the drive shaft. Don't underestimate this thing, this little thing plays a vital role in the safe operation of the drive shaft.

So since it is welded on, will it fall off?

In fact, it will really fall off, because the environment of the drive shaft during daily work is also very harsh. From time to time there are flying sand and rocks under the truck, hitting the high-speed transmission shaft back and forth, and the vibration caused by the increase in the gap after the transmission shaft connections are worn can cause the trim block to fall off.

It is not easy to find out after the trim block falls off, and the drive shaft will produce strong vibrations when running. At this time, the most obvious problem is that the bridge bearing pad is torn and damaged. It is possible that the ingot beam screws on the bridge bearing are also damaged. It will break, and in severe cases, Yuanbaoliang will also be shattered.

I personally experienced this kind of failure when I traveled to Guangzhou in 2005 and 2006.

The cross bearing of the transmission shaft should be filled with grease regularly, and check whether the shaft set of the cross shaft is in position and the outer diameter is in place. It is easy to check, just look to see if the inner circlip on the outside is worn and shiny. If so, explain it. The outer diameter of the cross bearing outer diameter increases, and the drive shaft is prone to vibration during operation due to increased clearance. At this time, it is best to replace the cross shaft to avoid future troubles.

Check whether the bridge bearing pad is intact, whether there are any cracks in the Yuanbao beam, whether there is any abnormal wear on the expansion joint, and the connection condition of the gearbox and the rear axle connecting plate. The connecting screws of the drive shaft must be tightened frequently. When adding butter, be sure to see new oil flowing out, so that the above drive shaft will not get into trouble with you during work.

The above is a summary of my experience. There are some imperfections. I hope to discuss and learn from it with everyone.
